This morning (11 July) there was a male Western Tanager and a male Black-headed Grosbeak in our backyard. Since they are not known to breed in the immediate vicinity and it seems early for fall migrants, we wonder if these are displaced from the Inyo Complex fire. There was also an adult male Costa's Hummingbird, a bird we don't see with regularity, at our feeder. Gorgeous.
