Sighting

This morning on several occasions between 0700 and 0800 on 12 July I saw Black Swifts over Baker Meadow. The best views were at about 0723 when two came right over (west to east). They were moderately high, but easily visible with the naked eye and binocular views were excellent. The other two views of single birds were distant and were off to the west (at 0715 and 0745). The male Indigo Bunting (SY?) was present and was still singing and Ash-throated Flycatchers were still present. Everything east of the road looked pretty well burned and I saw no sign (or heard) of the pair of Yellow-billed Cuckoos. JLD
