On 2 August we checked both bodies for migrant shorebirds. Numbers were remarkably low and we wondered if we were just caught in the time frame where most of the adults have already passed through and the young hadn't arrived. We did have an adult Bald Eagle just south of Bridgeport and of a dozen Red-necked Phalaropes, one was a very fresh and bright juvenile (photos). We saw our first juvenile Ring-billed Gull of the fall.
