Sighting

Yesterday morning (2 Sep) we were awaken by the calls of two Caspian Terns patrolling high above Midnight Lake. Other neat birds in the area were a Nashville Warbler, and a few small flocks of Red Crossbills. White- and Red-breasted Nuthatches were heard and occasionally seen. We were surprised to see two flegling Dusky Flycatchers this late in the year. Both were in fresh plumage and had a bright orange gape. The Aspens are already starting to turn at the highest elevations.
