Sighting

We also found males of two wonderful woodpeckers, the Black-backed and Williamson's Sapsucker. The forest along the ridge is banded with burned and unburned portions, and in one of the burnt sections we found the BBWO with his lemon-yellow crown making his typical sneaker-on-a-basketball-court call along with a growly goblin grrrr. The Williamson's was inspecting the wide chasms in the bark of ancient White Firs. And the aspens were beautiful. Long Live Glass Mountain.
