On the mornings of June 2 & 3. I observed a calling N. Pigmy Owl on the north side of June Lake. To find this bird drive west from the entrance to Oh Ridge campground. Drive into the forest from the flat and you will go through two rock road cuts. Just after the second road cut there is a small road to you right. I heard the bird from this spot. He calls from the top of the pines and is very hard to locate. Yesterday he was mobbed by two robins.
