On 8 July a Least Tern, 14th record for Inyo County, was photographed at Klondike Lake where it remained at least through mid-afternoon. This is the second latest record, the latest is 18 Aug. It spent most of time at south boat launch and moved to the southeast sandy area when people arrived. An adult Marbled Godwit was at Tinemaha Reservoir as were other shorebirds such as Least & Western Sandpipers and Wilson's Phalaropes. The godwit is on the early end of its fall migration and will become slightly more numerous during the next month.
