Sighting

Had the day off, so I took a little kiwi kayak out onto Bridgeport Reservoir for a few hours. 2 young Franklins Gulls and 1 adult were loafing on the muddy point north of the airstrip with about 50 White Pelicans. Two Bonaparte's Gulls were also milling about in the vicinity, keeping a short distance away from about 250 WESA, 50 LESA, 10 Dowitchers, and 60 Wilson's Phalaropes. Two Common Terns, one adult and one immature, were fishing near the boat launch. And at least 10,000 ducks (all the dabblers minus BW Teal and Wigeon) were foraging and loafing on the northwest inlet, occasionally gettling startled as a Peregrine dove and dove until it got a teal. No Baird's Sandpipers, though I looked hard in the Peep flocks. And no Sabine's Gull yet...can't wait to see one.
