Sighting

it wasn't a coyote as I was expecting but a young Harrier that did the poor little guy in. I got down to the delta at 7:15 this morning, to find a harrier sitting on it just finishing up polishing every last bit of meat off the Jaeger's body. Beautiful in death, as in life. There was something strange and rare yet profoundly beautiful about watching a lost young pelagic predator being dined on by a young at-home marsh hawk. Also two Common Terns at the delta this morning, loafing with a pair of much much larger Caspians.
