We had three Least Sandpipers and five Greater Yellowlegs. The water is drying up fast, but in the next few weeks, this should be a good place to check for early shorebird migrants. On 24 Feb, I had lots of Killdeer (probably 50) and 300+ ducks, but yesterday we arrived shortly after "sportsmen" had unloaded many rounds of spent shotgun cartridges all over the place as well as trash, we had zero Killdeer and zero ducks. I'm sure the birds will return, but I sure wish people would clean up from their fun and games.
