Phainopeplas breed south of us and after raising a brood in March and April many move north to breed again. These are the birds that we are now seeing. While it is possible that this pair are the Birchim Canyon birds it is also possible that they are another pair as Tom had 11 at Hogback Creek on 16 June. We have NO positive proof of breeding so it would be a significant contribution if someone found them carrying nesting material, food, or fecal sacs or saw them feeding young in or out of nests. Call us (938-2764) so we can photographically document your find.
