Today (9/8) at the Bishop Sewer Ponds I saw a Pectoral Sandpiper in adult plumage in the SE Pond. It was smaller than the adjacent killdeer and larger than the western sandpipers. The demarkation on the breast is distinctive...heavily streaked upper breast abruptly changing to pure white lower breast and underparts. From a distance this bird looks very dark.
P.S. I sure wish I had the frequent flyer miles this bird accrues every year!
