A Black-backed Lesser has been frequenting our native sunflowers. It is well accepted by the "normal" Lessers, as the Bishop bird seems to be. Also, though it is off the subject, we can't resist reporting a really cool Walkingstick, probably genus Diapheromera, found in our yard. Viewed with the hand lens, its coloration is amazing. Would appreciate hearing from anyb ody who knows even a little about their distribution hereabouts, and what species we would be likely to encounter. Also, if birders look at birds, and if fisherfolk catch fish, what is the name of people who chase insects?
