This last weekend the following were seen at Furnace Creek Ranch, Mesquite Springs and Scotty's Castle: Northern Waterthrush (3), Clay-colored Sparrow, Magnolia Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler females, Prothonotary Warbler female and Varied Thrush female. The next month is best for eastern vagrants. Kern County had a Broad-winged Hawk plus a dozen more fancies. It's that time of the year!
