Out early this morning: Great Horned Owl, N. Harrier, Rough-legged Hawk, 9 Canada Geese, 16 A. Coots, 4 Cinammon Teal, and a Blue-winged Teal drake (sharp, bold crescent moon on face) along with the Cinammons, and 2 Tree Swallows. Usual assortment of Rufous-sided Towhees and a few Imm. White-crowned Sparrows. FS recently completed controlled burn on meadow to the northwest of pond 1 along the dirt road (5-10 acres?).
