A (the) short-eared owl flew over the house at 1845 on the 27th. Moth like flight in erratic circles. Dark carpal patches were easily seen. The call sounded like a small dog's bark, high pitched and a little raspy. The call (bark) elicited responses from dogs as the owl flew over area yards.
