Yesterday, August 28th, I observed a juvenile red phalarope near the end of Layton Spring Road, sitting on shore and later flying. Very interesting plumage since most I see are in basic plumage. Today at the end of the NW arm of Crowley Lake were 23 marbled godwits and the one near the mouth of the Owens River makes a total of 24, which is the most I've seen in the area at one time.
