This morning I saw my first of fall white-lored gambelii White-crowned Sparrow. Gambelii evidently breed way north of here in British Columbia and Alaska and winter commonly in the Owens Valley. Fall is here! I also saw an oriantha race (breeds in our mountains, winters in Mexico) at Birchim Canyon last Sunday.
