There was a Canada Goose that fit the description of the Aleutian race at the Bishop City Park today at lunch, 29 Oct. It was smaller than the 2 "Common" Canada Geese and had a distinctive white collar that wrapped nearly around it's neck. Just below the white collar was a darker band that blurred to light further down. This bird knew it was elite and didn't socialize with the other Canadas, choosing a group of wigeon instead.

I don't remember Aleutians being so "common" in the Eastern Sierra. Interesting there were serveral at Crowley on Friday, two at Furnace Creek yesterday, and now this. Neat!
