This is really fun. Today (9Jan) we located another three Acorn Woodpeckers near the Baxter Pass Trailhead. Stopping at the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery on the way home, we located three AcWo's there, up from two previously. All told, we now know of a minimum of eleven Acorn Woodpeckers currently in the area.
