After scoping the bright red Vermilion flycatcher which was sitting on top of trees just over south fence of sewponds, we thought we heard the crane chortle and then spied it circling high up like an eagle and got to watch it slowly spiral down to the pond area, just south of the sewer ponds over the fence, where it gracefully landed. Both birds seem to be wintering in Bishop.
