This little one caught my attention with his single chipping calls as he surveyed the yard and vacant field from perches on a barb-wire fence. A flip of the tail accompanied each call and he sounded more enthusiastic whenever he swooped off to catch a fly. When he turned just right, the sun would light up his distinctive juvenile brown wing bars. I need a good zoom lens (missed multiple photo ops!)
