On 11 May, 21 observers spent the day searching all the nooks and crannies of the county looking for as many birds as they could find. They set a new record of 197 species and a new record of 10,922 individuals. Seven species were new to the count, Dunlin, Ruddy Ground-Dove, Lewis's Woodpecker, Williamson's Sapsucker, Northern Waterthrush, White-throated Sparrow, and Dickcissel. All participants are looking forward to Next Year in hopes that over 200 species can be found. If interested in becoming a guerilla birder on the second Saturday of May 2003 contact us.
