Yesterday afternoon, Jim and Debby Parker patiently refound the Yellow-billed Cuckoo in the Dixon Cottonwoods. This morning (6 June) I found it again after about an hour of looking for it. I took the following photos of this very elegant bird. If you intend to look for this bird, please keep a reasonable distance from this shy bird and don't
harass it with a tape recording. If this bird is to successfully breed anywhere this year, it needs
uninterrupted feeding time, to continue its migration, hopefully find suitable habitat, and just as difficult a
mate. Hopefully it can beat the odds! |
