This bright male in alternate plumage was feeding in the Greengate Cottonwoods today, which seems odd as they are busy with their nesting now at higher elevations. Jim hypothesized that it could be a refuge from the Rock Creek fire up the hill. It seems early for this species to be back in the valley floor to me. Appreciate other ideas on this.
