Hi all, Yesterday me and Joel had the treat of watching 2 female (-type) Pine Grosbeaks foraging in lodgepoles in Mono County. They were near the start of the Gardisky Lake trailhead, near upper Lee Vining Creek, only about 50 meters from the road to Saddlebag lake. They were first spotted by Joel and we got to see them closely! They seemed to preferr the male cones on the tree. After that we were treated by a spectacular sunset. cheers, Kristie
