Today, 17 Nov 2002, was a five gull day at Crowley. Jon showed us a first winter Thayer's (see photo) and a first winter Herring amid hundreds of California, a smattering of Ring-billeds and one adult Boneparte's. Also surprising were 27 Greater Yellowlegs on the shallow pond north of the Benton Crossing Rd; three sub-adult Bald Eagles and two adults; at least 2 Red-breasted Merganser's, at least a dozen Tundra Swans.
