Pink-sided Junco is not really mentioned in Gaines, just Gray-headed. Perhaps "pink-sided" was not considered a race back then? Black around lores, grey head, pink sides, larger than Oregons. It did not have the "well-defined rufous mantle" Sibley attributes to Gray-headed Juncos, which I have seen in New Mexico. Call deeper, almost like a Fox Sparrow. Our first on the Eastside.
