On 26 Dec we had a juv Red-throated Loon and a White-winged Scoter at Tinemaha Reservoir. The best viewing is on the low road where you can park at a small pullout near the outflow circular cement structure. While the loon was the closest bird to us, it first was out in the middle diving and then swam towards us and after cutting the distance in half tucked its head and slept for awhile. Great views! The scoter was also diving but then began preening and gave many view of the white in the wing.
