Description

The neatest bird for me at Furnace Creek Ranch on Wednesday afternoon (15 Jan) was a Barn Swallow flying over the horse corrals. (This could be the only January record for Inyo?) Other than that, there were 2 Lewis's Woodpeckers in the date grove, 2 Ross's Geese, a Common Moorhen, a female Wood Duck, and a Red-shouldered Hawk. At the Inn, there was an elusive Sooty Fox Sparrow and Hermit Thrush. Generally, it's a slow time of year bird-wise at FCR.
