We parked at the kiosk on the road to Grandview Campground and walked through the pinyon pines on the hills above in the snow and sun. Got to hear Crossbills and finally had great views of them working pine cones, imms, males & females. Also,4 Pine Siskins were after the cones too and we tracked down a Scrub Jay by its voice. Bored with birdwatching, Girlie (the dog) played in the snow and ate pine nuts which were on the ground under the trees.
