Among a small flock of breeding-plumaged long-billed dows, we discovered one juvenal-plumaged bird with nice orange tiger striping in its tertial feathers. Also its undertail area was pure white with distinct black spots. Greater wing coverts were also broadly edged in buffy orangish color and had little flecks of orangish color up above their tips. So, at this moment, we have convinced ourselves that we were looking at a juvenile short-billed dowitcher. Any comments? We also got another brief look at Thursday's LUCY'S WARBLER. And, at Bishop City Park, observed a migrating WILLOW FLYCATCHER.
