Long-billed Dowitchers, Greater Yellowlegs and Balk Eagle at Farmers Pond, Tree Swallows over the Owens River

Sighting

What a surprise to find a flock of 9 Dowitchers feeding along the shore, in winter plumage, these birds were identified by their single "keek" note given repeatedly especially when the mature Bald Eagle flew low over them. The eagle also pushed up over 30 American Pipits. Two Greater Yellowlegs were seen at a distance across the pond. There were 10 Tree Swallows flying over the bridge at the river before Laws and after Farmers Pond.
