On 15 Mar a female Northern Harried drifted slowly over a female Cinnamon Teal sitting on the water about 4 feet below the harrier. The hawk dropped and the teal dove causing the hawk to hover. The teal came up and the hawk dropped more. Again the teal dove while the hawk hovered. The third time the teal came up for air the hawk landed on the teal's back forcing it underwater. The water was only about ten inches deep and the harrier held the teal under for two minutes. The hawk then flew ten feet dragging the teal over the surface of the water to a mudflat where it plucked the teal and ate it!
