We spent 4 days backpacking and birding in the Cottonwood Springs area. Notable were first of Spring for us, on 4-12 a Green Tailed Towhee, on 4-14 Chipping Sparrows, a single singing male Wilson's Warbler, and a Plumbeous Vireo. Sage Sparrows carrying insects, female Costa's Hummingbird on nest and a Long Eared Owl. 31 species total, including many Sage Sparrows, Blue Grey Gnatcatchers, and Lesser Goldfinches.
