This morning at the north end of lake crowley at the Owen's river mouth was a beautiful adult Heermann's Gull! Got some pictures with Mammoth Mt. in the background. Also, one Franklin's Gull, and a large influx of terns - mostly Caspian with a whopping 62 roosting at the delta, and also quite a few Forester's. A few short-billed dowitchers, also. The peeps have totally cleared out. Only one western sandpiper, when a week or so ago Crowley was loaded with least sandp's. Many migrants moving through the Mono Basin. At Dechambeau creek Yellow and MacGillivray's just arrived, as well as W. Tanager, Cassin's vireo, Brewer's sparrows, BH Grosbeak, etc. Nice time of year!
