Sighting

On 08 May 04, from 0715 to 0730, I watched and listened to a Bendire's Thrasher at Lee Flats, Inyo County. Directions. Take 190 East from Lone Pine. Go 4.2 miles past the turnoff for Darwin and then turn left (north) and drive 8.3 miles to Lee Flats. Take the left fork (White Mt Talc Rd) and drive 2.7 miles. The bird was found on the right (east) about 75 yds away. It was atop Joshua Trees and above and below the slope to the higher ground. It stopped singing at o730 and flew to the east and disappeared. Earlier in the morning may be more productive. Good Luck.
