Last Sunday a Myiarchus shaped flycatcher caught my attention near the falls. Slightly bigger in over all size with a larger bill than an Ash-throated. The throat and upper breast were gray and the belly was yellow not washed out like on an Ash-throated. The bird gave sharp, bold wheep call notes unlike Ash-throated which gives a soft perrt as a call note. The bird was gleaning in the branches of the tree willows up high and down on the lower larger branches. Also present were Wilson's and Yellow Warblers, Black and Say's Pheobes, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers tending nests and a Spotted Sandpiper at the falls.
