Birding at the Crowley Lake Marina yesterday I had two Common Loons swimming around. Both appeared to be second year (first summer) birds. The previous day I had at least one Bank Swallow at the Owen's River mouth at the north end of the lake. Also at the north end were two American Wigeon, as well as many Cinnamon and Blue-winged Teal, Wilson's Phaleropes, Forster's Terns, American White Pelicans, a few Boneparte's Gulls, and a couple of Willets. There were a lot of birds out there. At Little Lake, in southern Inyo County, I had a single Great Egret on the 21st. Also, Rufous Hummingbirds have returned to McGee Creek, with one bird seen yesterday morning.
