This afternoon (26 June) there were many Calliope's and Anna's at the feeders upstream from Tom's Place. More interesting were the Costa's male (nice long purple gorget) and Black-chinned male and female. I thought they were both more Owens Valleyish/deserty. Indeed, David Gaines' Yosemite and East Slope book shows Anna's as rare and Costa's as status uncertain with only a single record. However, he "suspect(s) Costa's...are rare but regular". Alas, I haven't seen a rufous yet...any day now!
