Hiking from the upper aqueduct to the end of the dirt road in Nine Mile Canyon produced 3 Band-tailed Pigeons, a Nashville Warbler and a female Wilson's Warbler. 18 total species were seen. No Name Canyon had a warbling vireo. 10 species were seen. Overall,the expected resident birds were in very short supply. This is probably due to the incredibly dry condtions.
