Okay, I know it's not in the Eastern Sierra but very easy to get to from here...Hiked out to North Dome today from Porcupine Ck trailhead - the female adult bird was about midway along the 1 mile stretch of level trail after you cross the creek below the parking area (about a one mile walk). Also a White-headed Woodpecker as well!!
