We've been enjoying a "yellow-start" in the willows behind our house yesterday evening and today. It actively zips through the higher branches, tail fanning yellow patches. There are a couple smudgy yellow patches on the sides of breast, but none on the wings, so we're thinking it's a first-fall female. We suppose American Redstart is considered a 'low-grade' vagrant in Inyo - low numbers expected annually in spring and fall.
