We've been catching fleeting glimpses of a Yellow-breasted Chat in the willow thicket behind our house since Tuesday. (It is a rather large warbler with white spectacles on a dark face, yellow breast.) This morning we observed why it's sticking around. It flew into our vegetable garden, snatched a 'Sun Gold' cherry tomato, retreated to the thicket and devoured its prize! Lesson learned: Plant more Sun Golds!
