On 2 Oct a dozen people birded Furnace Creek Ranch in the morning. Susan Steele, of Ridgecrest, found an adult male Ruddy Ground-Dove and a juvenile Sabine's Gull, only the 2nd record for FCR. Other nice birds were a Northern Waterthrush, Osprey, 3 Vermilion Flycatchers (adult male, immature male, female age unknown) and a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
