Driving down Dolomite Loop near Owenyo road this evening, I got a nice surprise. The thrasher was perched on a bush just off the road, calling. It then flew to the ground and ran off. I followed it and watched it charge a shrike that thought it would share some of the tasty morsel the thrasher had unearthed.
