Sighting

Female White-headed Woodpecker working the bark of the cypress trees at the corner of Fowler and South Streets. I heard it first, a "not-quite-a Nuttalls" sound, which demanded identification. Since the Park and Mesa White-headeds were males, this is a different bird. (Odd that the NGS field guide lists them with the Melanerpes.)
