Sighting

While scouring Round Valley for the annual USFWS Bald Eagle Survey, an unusual loud calling was heard from the skies near Horton Creek Campground and four Bald Eagles were twirling and calling high up together, with two adults clasping talons. Three were adults and one was very light below as in a juvenile or basic/subadult I as seen on page 143 of Raptors of NA by Wheeler (2003).The trailing edge of the underside wingcoverts showed the distinctive line of dark feathers contrasting with the white of the wingcoverts.
