Sighting

I forgot to mention that I color band Dusky Flycatchers as well, which co-exist with Willow Flycatchers on Rush Creek. The WIFL nestling in the photo (Creamsicle), and its sibling (Picasso) fledged last Friday. It's been a horrible year for the Rush Creek WIFL population - only one other nest fledged young, and it only fledged one chick. Preliminary results say that Brown-headed Cowbird parasitism directly contributed to the loss of 17 of 31 Willow Flycatcher eggs, and nest predation eliminated 12 of the rest.
