Sighting

I did one of my periodic canyon rambles today and was very surprised to hear a call that sounded something like a Wilson’s Warbler’s “chimp” call note. Turned out to be a Winter Wren. It actually spent several minutes hopping in and out of the bushes for great views. Had 28 species for the walk, which is just great for the end of November. I’m usually thrilled to see 15 species at this time of year. I also saw 7 species of plants with flowers on them including brittle bush, salvia dorrii, and desert calico.
